Group HScala

• Building a compiler that translates Scala into SPIR-V assembly for seamless switching between CPU and GPU processing.
• Designing a safe, sound type system tailored for heterogeneous programming using Capture Tracking.

Supervised by Dr. Lauren Pick

• Collaborating with a research team to explore Large Language Models for modular reasoning and maximal specification synthesis to assist agentic code generation.
• Developing an agentic workflow with MiniSWEAgent in Python for evaluating the effectiveness of LLM-generated code with prompted formal specifications against the DafnyBench dataset.

Supervised by Dr. Hoover Yin

• 1st Research: Led a seven-member undergraduate team investigating the effects of placement and colour contrast on nested halftone QR codes to achieve higher information density while maintaining scan reliability. Developed a nested halftone QR code generator in Kotlin/JVM, enabling experiments with varied configurations, sizes, and error correction levels.
• 2nd Research: Optimised batch sizes and intermediate node buffer sizes to enhance transmission efficiency under the batched sparse codes (BATS) scheme. Developed a Python simulator to replicate wireless communication in multi-hop networks with BATS Codes as transmission method.

Instructor

• Instructed 15 Form 3 to 5 students in 2 enrichment courses: Advanced Programming (Python), and Data Structure and Algorithms (Kotlin), enhancing their coding proficiency.
• Developed lesson materials and coding exercises, deepening students' mastery of object-oriented programming, algorithmic concepts while utilizing Git to submit their course works.
• Mentored students for the Hong Kong Olympiad in Informatics Competition through targeted coaching, resulting in 3 advancing to the Finalist stage.

Programmer

• Converted a paper-based disciplinary system to a paperless solution using Google Suite, resolving issues with merging records from different departments and reducing manual data entry.
• Developed workflows with JavaScript-based Google Apps Script, integrating with existing FoxPro-based administrative systems, to retrieve and update student data and generate reports.
